Worked exampleOne question. Five steps.Follow how KADE reasons about your stalled bench press.
Step 01 · Your data

It starts with you, not the internet.

KADE pulls your last eight bench sessions, your sleep, food logs, soreness, and body weight. It sees that you bench Monday and Wednesday, 44 hours apart, and that you average 112 g of protein a day.

Step 02 · Evidence

It keeps only studies that match you.

KADE searches the library for pressing plateaus in lifters of your age and experience. When a paper is openly available, it reads the full text, not just the abstract, so it can check who was studied and what they actually did. It drops studies of beginners and elite athletes, and ranks the rest by evidence tier.

T1 · meta-analysisT2 · trialsT5 · anecdotes, kept out
Step 03 · Parallel reasoning

Three independent lines of reasoning.

Training, food, and recovery are each analyzed on their own. No line sees another's conclusion, so one bad idea cannot spread to the rest.

TrainingYour press days are too close. Your chest never fully recovers.
FoodYour protein is 38 g under target on lifting days.
RecoveryYour sleep is fine. It is not the cause.
Step 04 · Cross-check

It shows where the lines agree, and where they do not.

Two lines point to the same fix. One finds nothing. KADE reports the split instead of hiding it, and lowers its confidence to match.

Step 05 · Result

An answer, and a plan that already changed.

Your bench moves to Monday and Thursday. 38 g of protein is added to your dinner. Your next rep goal is set. You approve or undo each change.

4 · Every answer cites its grade

KADE names the evidence tier in every reply, so you know how strong the science is behind each recommendation. When the evidence is weak or mixed, it tells you.

The T1 to T5 scale is our own, inspired by GRADE-style certainty ratings.

T1 · 88% · matched to you

Text version: studies, guidelines, books, talks and discussion go in. Each record gets a tier from T1 (strongest) to T5 (weakest, kept out of answers). The graded library of 30M+ records feeds every KADE answer, which cites its tier.

A day with KADEIt fits around your life, not just your workouts.KADE learns your schedule, sleep, and habits. It adapts your plan to your day, and helps you improve the day itself.
Before

You wake up. The plan has already changed.

KADE read last night's sleep, your resting heart rate, and yesterday's soreness before you opened the app. It knows you train at 5:30 PM today, and plans that session around how you slept.

KADE · Morning check

You slept 5h 02m. Legs today are cut to 6 working sets.

Applied to today
  • Squat 3×5 → 2×5, same weight
  • Leg press 3×10 → 2×10
Why

Sleeping 6 hours or less cuts performance by about 7.6% on average, and the drop is largest in afternoon and evening sessions (Craven et al. 2022, 69 studies). Keeping the weight holds the strength stimulus. Fewer sets cut fatigue you cannot recover from tonight. The lost volume returns later in the week.

During

You ask a question between sets. It answers in one breath.

Speak to KADE with your hands full. It answers aloud and logs the set for you.

KADE · Set 2 of 2

That was 5 clean reps. Add 5 lb next week.

Your data · 91%
Applied to your log
  • Squat 2×5 @ 225 saved
  • Next session: 230 lb
Why

You hit every rep at your target effort, so you are ready for more load. Small, steady increases are how strength keeps climbing without stalling.

After

You close the day. KADE fixes tomorrow.

It reads dinner, protein, and sleep target, then sets up tomorrow so you do not have to think about it.

KADE · Evening debrief

You are 31 g short on protein. A shake before bed closes it.

Applied for tomorrow
  • Bedtime reminder set for 10:30 PM
  • Breakfast adds 20 g protein
Why

Protein adds muscle up to about 1.6 g per kg of body weight a day (Morton et al. 2018, 49 trials). Closing today's gap keeps you at that target.

Jon Marriott, founder of CARBYNE
Founder

Jon Marriott

I grew up as a competitive athlete: ten years of gymnastics, then competitive bodybuilding from age 16. Fitness has always been my life, and so has the frustration. Accurate fitness content is scattered and unverified, and very little of it helps you actually advance.

So I built CARBYNE. It pairs a growing library of real exercise videos with KADE, a coach that reasons from graded research and human biology and learns as much about you as you choose to share, from bloodwork to wearable data. KADE never judges. Whatever your starting point, you can tell it the truth, including supplements and peptides, and it works from your real picture. It watches your health trends and shows where your metrics are heading, so you can act early. Built-in privacy keeps your data yours.

I am an NASM-certified coach, and I am building CARBYNE to make evidence-based health and fitness simple for everyone, from first-time lifters to elite athletes.
